This album is a collection of songs that looks at the world from a
womans perspective with lyrics that reflect upon lived experiences,
infused with insight, empathy and emotion; Waiting in the
background which tells the story of women patiently biding their time;
the complex nature and impact of domestic abuse in Tell me world;
reemerging into the world after the pandemic in Come alive; the
bittersweet feeling of ‘hiraeth’ (longing) and being far from home in
Atgofion; the allure and the all-consuming nature of being in love in Y
Fflam and the personal Genes inspired by Sarah’s daughter and She’s
a lover inspired by Lowri’s ‘once met never forgotten’ mam!

INTRODUCING TAPESTRI
“There is some true magic captured here with two voices in perfect harmony” “If you’re a fan of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young or First Aid Kit you’re going to love this” New Sound Wales
“Brilliant every time. Not many bands are as good live as on air” - Fresh on the net
“Absolutely captivating” Janice Long, BBC Radio Wales
“Outstanding” Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales
Tapestri is a band sparked by a chance meeting between Welsh singer-songwriters Lowri Evans and Sarah Zyborska (SERA) at Festival Interceltique de Lorient in the summer of 2019 where they were both performing as solo artists at the Welsh Pavilion.
Fuelled by their passion for folk and Americana music and the desire to form a bilingual female-fronted band, they soon after started carving out songs that take their musical colours from a broad palette that includes Americana, Roots, Folk and Country. Their voices instantly found a connection and developed a harmonious sound, likened to that of sibling duos.
Sarah and Lowri have been performing as solo artists for a number of years, performing across Wales, the UK and internationally - (including Folk Alliance in Kansas and North American Festival of Wales, Greenman, Underneath the Stars and Festival Number 6) and played on national and international radio (BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2).
As a newly formed band and based at opposite ends of Wales, (Sarah on Anglesey and Lowri in Pembrokeshire) the pair continued to develop their vision for Tapestri throughout the pandemic, making plans and recording remotely. As soon as they could meet in person, they were back at it and soon had written their album songs.
Lowri and Sarah have a special connection that has grown through the songs they have written and the vision they have for Tapestri and women in music. They were inspired by The Highwomen, the US ‘supergroup’ featuring Brandi Carlile and Amanda Shires, who formed as a response to the lack of representation of women artists on country music radio and festivals.
After releasing a number of bilingual singles and performances at Focus Wales, Between the Trees, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, Noson Lawen, Gwyl Fwyd Caernarfon, and represented Wales in the first ever Global Music Match, this summer they were crowd favourites on the main stage at Cambridge Folk Festival and Greenman, released a limited edition hand made CD and played two sold out hometown shows.
They look forward to a number of shows and festivals over the autumn and their debut album will be released in March 2023.

YN CYFLWYNO... TAPESTRI

Mae Tapestri yn fand a gafodd ei sbarduno gan gyfarfod ar hap rhwng y gantores-gyfansoddwyr Cymreig Lowri Evans a Sarah Zyborska (SERA) yn Festival Interceltique de Lorient yn haf 2019 lle’r oedd y ddau yn perfformio fel artistiaid unigol ym Mhafiliwn Cymru.
Wedi’u tanio gan eu hangerdd am gerddoriaeth werin ac Americana a’r awydd i ffurfio band blaen benywaidd dwyieithog, yn fuan wedyn dechreuodd 'sgwennu caneuon sy’n tynnu eu lliwiau cerddorol o balet eang sy’n cynnwys Americana,'Roots' Gwerin a Gwlad. Daeth eu lleisiau ynghyd yn naturiol iawn, ac yn sydyn, yn gymharol i ddwy chwaer. Yna datblygodd ei sain unigryw a daethant â Lee Mason i mewn ar y gitâr a Jake Newman ar y bas.
Mae Sarah a Lowri wedi bod yn perfformio fel artistiaid unigol ers nifer o flynyddoedd, yn perfformio ledled Cymru, y DU ac yn rhyngwladol (gan gynnwys Folk Alliance yng Nghansas and North American Festival of Wales, Cynllun BBC Gorwelion, Greenman, Underneath the Stars a Festival Number 6) ac wedi chwarae ar radio cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol (gan gynnwys BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2).
Fel band newydd yn 2019, ac wedi’i leoli ar begwn arall Cymru, (Sarah ar Ynys Môn a Lowri yn Sir Benfro) parhaodd y pâr i ddatblygu eu gweledigaeth ar gyfer Tapestri trwy gydol y pandemig, gan wneud cynlluniau a recordio o bell. Cyn gynted ag y gallent gwrdd wyneb yn wyneb, roeddent yn ôl wrthi ac yn fuan wedi ysgrifennu caneuon ar gyfer eu halbwm.
Mae gan Lowri a Sarah gysylltiad arbennig sydd wedi tyfu trwy’r caneuon maent wedi eu hysgrifennu a’r weledigaeth sydd ganddyn nhw ar gyfer Tapestri a merched mewn cerddoriaeth. Cawsant eu hysbrydoli gan The Highwomen (‘supergroup’ UDA sy’n cynnwys Brandi Carlile ac Amanda Shires, a ffurfiodd mewn ymateb i ddiffyg cynrychiolaeth artistiaid benywaidd ar radio a gwyliau canu gwlad).
Ar ôl rhyddhau nifer o senglau a pherfformiadau dwyieithog yn Focus Wales, Between the Trees, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, Noson Lawen, Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon, a chynrychioli Cymru yn y Global Music Match cyntaf erioed, cawsant haf 2022 o sioeau gan gynnwys perfformiad ar brif lwyfan Wyl Werin Caergrawnt a Greenman. Gwnaethwyd CD argraffiad cyfyngedig ar gyfer y gigs yma.
Mae ganddynt nifer o gigs a gwyliau dros yr Hydref a byddant yn ryddhau ei album cyntaf ym mis Mawrth 2023.
